Martin headlines NPL movements on eve of transfer window

Ahead of tomorrow’s opening of the NPL mid-season transfer window, a series of player movements have taken place across the weekend with many more set to come in the next fortnight.

21-year-old goalkeeper Dennys Martin has departed Pascoe Vale having been at the club for the past two years, making a total of three league appearances for the Rams.

The former Springvale White Eagles and Dandenong City custodian has subsequently joined the high-flying Caulfield United Cobras in State League One and made his debut for Mike Kupinic’s men in Saturday’s 3-3 thrilling draw against Mornington.

Box Hill United have signed former Hume City midfielder Josh Markovski – the son of NSL legend and former Socceroo John – who returns to the country after spending time in Serbia.

The former South Melbourne 20s player made five senior appearances for Hume in the league under Lou Acevski over the course of his two years with the first-team at ABD Stadium.

Pythagoras have also welcomed back midfielder Caleb Ludlow, who returns to Wembley Park after a short playing spell back home in Tasmania with South Hobart.

NPL2 East strugglers Richmond have announced the acquisition of 22 year-old Kiwi centre-back Scott Hilliar, who arrives at Kevin Bartlett Reserve from ABS Premiership side Waitakere United.

Werribee City appear to be on the verge of completing the signing of Italian forward Leandro Parralla from State League Two outfit Peninsula Strikers according to Football Chaos reporter Craig MacKenzie.

The 30 year-old began his career in Serie B with Vicenza and has spent the majority of the past decade plying his trade in Italy’s fourth and fifth tiers of football and will be the Bees’ second visa player.

Sunshine George Cross has released Montserrat international Daryl Roach after just senior appearance, with the former Port Melbourne Sharks forward on the hunt for a new home.

In the meantime, Tony Ciantar’s side welcomed the arrival of 20-year-old striker Anthony Laus, who moves to Chaplin Reserve after spending some time with Sunderland’s 21s side.

A dual Australian and Croatian national, his most recent stint was with Portuguese third-tier side Villafranquense and spent his junior career with the likes of Altona City and Melbourne Knights.

The Goulburn Valley Suns have made Lewis Coyle their second visa addition alongside Welshman Robert Hughes, with the Englishman joining from non-league side Halsall.

Finally, State League One North-West side Westgate have parted company with manager Kevin Taylor eight rounds into the campaign following Saturday’s heartbreak 5-4 defeat to Sydenham Park at home.

Sindeljic remain rooted to the bottom of the ladder despite an improvement in performances under the former Seaford United and Bentleigh Greens 20s Championship winning manager.

Recent signing Gino Defeo has taken up the role of interim manager as the club search for a replacement with the Englishman making a great playing start to life at Castley Reserve.
