Ranges bolster attacking stocks with Colosimo capture

The Whittlesea Ranges have moved swiftly to replace departed striker Matthew Conversano by bringing in Jacob Colosimo from Pascoe Vale.

25 year-old Colosimo moves to Epping Stadium after a frustrating spell at CB Smith Reserve which yielded six league appearances – three of those being starts.

His move to Vinko Buljubasic’s side is no doubt motivated by a desire to recapture his best form with the forward being goalless in his time with Paco.

Colosimo made his senior debut for the Melbourne Knights in 2009 and in total made 89 league appearances over the course of his first stint at Somers Street – scoring 24 goals.

He made a mid-season switch to Avondale in 2015 and netted five times in 13 appearances for the Avengers, before returning to the Knights in the summer.

A further five goals from 25 appearances followed under Andrew Marth with Colosimo also netting in the Knights 2-1 FFA Cup Round of 32 victory against Cockburn City last year.

In total he played 114 league games for the club, winning the 2014 Dockerty Cup although he missed out on most of that season after suffering a season-ending knee injury.

Meanwhile, youngster Rocco Liuzzi has left the Ranges after making six first-team appearances over the course of the past 12 months and agreed to join Banyule City in State League One.

The Ranges got back to winning ways against bottom-of-the-table Bendigo City with a 6-0 win.
