Regional outfits Murray United and Bendigo City have both announced an international signing for the upcoming NPL season, with American utility Fernando Posada and German midfielder Timo Schick joining respectively.

The imposing Posada joins from the US College system, last turning out for NCAA outfit South Wesleyan University, where he made 21 starts, scoring four goals and adding one assist in his most recent season.

Capable of playing in midfield and as a centre-back, the 24-year-old was named in the NCCAA South All-Region Team of the Tournament for his outstanding form.

Posada previously turned out for Colombian second division outfit Real Cartagena and is expected to feature for Murray once his international clearance is approved.

The signing of Posada completes Murray’s foreign quota, with captain Ashley Dunn also on the books for James Coutts’ side.

Schick, a Freiburg native, joins Scotsman Scott Dunn as Bendigo’s Visa contingent for the 2017 NPL2 season.

The 20-year-old German is expected to line up in midfield for Srecko Baresic-Nikic, having last featured for Bayside FA Premier Division outfit Boronia SC.

He becomes the seventh signing for the regional outfit, following the additions of Jarrod Styles, Sam Mangelsdorf, Ehsoo Seven, Junior Irineu Mota and Abraham Lokiru, as well as the aforementioned Dunn.
