Bundoora United boss Mark Torcaso is content with how is team is preparing for their upcoming Finals campaign following their 7-1 trouncing of Ashburton on Saturday afternoon.
Reflecting on the match post-game, the young coach expressed his satisfaction with the result, citing the importance of keeping his players fresh in the run in to the pointy end of the season.
“It was good to get some players some match fitness for the finals coming up,” he said.
“I obviously took some of our key players off and rest them a little bit.”
He went on to state his belief that this Bundoora side could do some real damage in the finals, while also naming his side’s main rivals to take out the title.
“I really think so, I think that we have the players and depth that will be the important part in the finals,” he claimed.
“[Our rivals are] probably still Box Hill and South.”
The win at Hillsview Reserve mean Bundoora keep the pressure on Box Hill and Sandringham, knowing a win against the latter next week at home could prove pivotal in determining where his side end up at the end of the home and away season.
