Women’s Premier League side Bundoora United have completed a transfer coup ahead of the new season, with 2013 Grand Final MVP Jessica Au agreeing a move from South Melbourne WFC.

They beat off fierce competition from rival WPL teams, with reported interest from Box Hill United, Bulleen Lions, Heidelberg United and Boroondara Eagles.

The South Morang outfit have been eager to add more firepower to their side, after a disappointing fourth-placed finish this year.

Fleet-footed Au will offer a vital scoring touch and versatility in the attacking third for Mark Torcaso’s team, with the 19-year-old having been played all across the front three and in central midfield by former coach Alan Davidson last season.

Her performances in what was only her second WPL season earned Au rave reviews as well as a much-deserved call up to Melbourne Victory, having made the W-League team as a train-on in previous years.

The winger won the Women’s Premier League title with South Melbourne in 2014, beating Heidelberg in a nail-biting Grand Final in October.

There is a chance Au could link up with NTC product Jess Pitts at Hillsview Recreation Reserve, with Bundoora also keeping tabs on the talented young midfielder as they look to take another stab at an elusive maiden WPL title.
