Melbourne Knights have announced attacker Danny Dixon as their fourth signing of the off-season, having earlier confirming the departures of Jacob Colosimo and Ivan Grgic.

21-year-old Dixon has experience at the Carlisle United academy side in England, joining Bayswater and winning a Western Australian NPL title in 2015.

He initially moved to Victoria in 2016 to play for Bentleigh Greens before moving to Hume City mid-season.

He made 12 appearances and scored one goal for Bentleigh, before moving to Hume and making a further eight appearances and netting another goal.

Meanwhile, Colosimo’s departure comes after a season which yielded 25 games and five goals.

He returned to Somers Street having spent the latter half of the 2015 season with Avondale FC, where he played 13 games and netted five times.

Colosimo spent the majority of his senior career at Somers Street, making his debut for the club in 2009 under then-manager Chris Taylor. A breakthrough 2011 saw score 10 times in 17 league games.

However, he was plagued by injuries in recent years and spent a lengthy period on the sidelines in 2014 with knee troubles.
He departs after 114 appearances and 29 goals over two stints.

Grgic, a Knights junior, debuted as a 17-year-old in 2013.

After establishing himself as a first team regular, capable of playing in the centre- or right-back, the towering defender departs after 58 league games and five goals.

The Knights now have four signings on their books for 2017, with Dixon following Jake Barker-Daish, Kym Harris and Elvis Kamsoba to Somers Street.
