Former Brisbane Roar assistant coach Luciano Trani, and Football Federation Australia elite junior coach, Ivan Jolic have joined Melbourne Heart as new coaching additions to the Club for the upcoming season.

In a statement outlining the coaching structure for the 2014-15 Hyundai A-League campaign, the club welcomed Championship winning Trani, who has also held previous positions at Wellington Phoenix and Adelaide United, as the new Senior Assistant.

“We are very fortunate to have a well-respected and highly motivated coach like Luc to help build the Club both now and in the future,” head coach John van ’t Schip said.

“Luc has had success with Brisbane last season but also got excellent results at the other clubs he has been involved with. He is a proven winner and will ensure we get as much out of our players as possible.”

Meanwhile, former St Albans Saints and Melbourne Knights defender Ivan Jolic joins Melbourne Heart after four years as head of the FFA’s Skills Acquisition Program.

Both Trani and Jolic have been involved in Australian football for most of their careers, and join Joey Didulica as van ‘t Schip’s trio of assistants.

Joe Palitsedes retains his position as Youth Coach for a third consecutive year.

One noticeable omission from Heart’s coaching structure was Gerard Nus, who joined John Aloisi at the beginning of last season, following a stint as Head of Academy Coaching at English Championship club Brighton & Hove Albion FC.

However, it is expected that former Real Madrid and Sampdoria fitness coach Simone Ripamonti will remain as High Performance Coach & Sport Science Coordinator, having joined the club in November 2013
