Koroma, Lombardo makes Magic move while Northcote unveil Cook

Defensive duo Amadu Koroma and Gregory Lombardo become the latest top-flight players to join ambitious State League One side Altona Magic while Northcote City have announced Englishman Nathan Cook as their second signing of the off-season.

24-year-old Koroma moves to Paisley Park Soccer Complex after spending one season at Lakeside Stadium where he made a total of 12 league appearances in the Championship-winning campaign.

Born in Sierra Leone, he made his name in Australia football with Tasmanian club Glenorchy Knights before joining sister club Melbourne Knights ahead of the 2011 VPL season.

He made a total of two league appearances for the two-time NSL Champions before making a mid-season switch to second tier Western Suburbs.

The versatile right back spent 2012 with the St Albans Saints before joining the Port Melbourne Sharks in 2013, helping consolidate their status in the top-flight before departing for Green Gully in 2015, and brings with him 61 games of top-flight experience

Former Northcote skipper Lombardo joins the Magic after three seasons at John Cain Memorial reserve, where he made a total 0f 70 appearances, scoring the solitary goal.

The 31-year-old previously spent three seasons with Pascoe Vale, where he earned promotion with the club in 2012, while also formerly representing Moreland Zebras and the Bentleigh Greens.

They join Joseph Franjic and club physio Johnie Markov as new additions to the dressing room of the 2016 State League One Champions, who have also re-signed Scottish striker Jon McShane, ex-Green Gully attacker Nikola Markovski and left-back Johnny MacRae, along with assistant coach Franz Weimper.

Over at John Cain Memorial Reserve, new Manager Zeljko Kuzman has welcomed 24-year-old centre back Nathan Cook from State League 2 side Altona City.

The Englishman began his career at local side Scarborough before migrating to Australia where he has featured for the likes of Adelaide Raiders and Hobart Zebras respectively.

He joins Griffin McMaster as new additions to the Hercules playing squad which has been boosted by the re-signings of former Moreland Zebras strike duo James Papadimitriou and Danny Charalambous as well as ex-Goulburn goalkeeper Phil Petrovski.
