Murnane signs pro deal

Melbourne Victory Youth left back Dylan Murnane has been handed his first professional deal with the club, signing a contract that will last until the 2015/16 season.

Murnane has made six A-League appearances since his debut last season. He has made three starts and an appearance off the bench this season, performing admirably in a defence decimated by injuries, international call-ups and suspensions.

He’s also been ever present for the youth team in the last two seasons, and has shown enough potential for head coach Kevin Muscat to believe he can make the full step up to the senior side.

“Dylan has shown that he is up to the challenge when it comes to the A-League and he is certainly a player with a bright future,” Muscat said in a club release.

“Dylan can only get better and we are excited to have him at the club for the next two seasons.”

Murnane joins the likes of Andrew Nabbout, Connor Pain, Nick Ansell and Jordan Brown in earning a full professional contract after stellar performances in the National Youth League and the A-League.

He is delighted to see his hard work over the last two years rewarded by this promotion, and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for him.

“I’ve enjoyed my time with the club so far and I’m really excited to have signed my first pro-contract,” Murnane said in a club release.

“Melbourne Victory is a great environment to be in and to have plenty of experienced players and coaches around me is a massive help.”
