Murray United’s preparations for the 2016 NPL 2 season have continued with the signing of Kyungmin Choi.

Described as “skillful and tactical” by coach James Coutts, the attacking midfielder will play in an advanced role behind striker Zac Walker according to the manager.

Featured in K-League setups in his youth, the 27-year-old most recently plied his trade in New Zealand’s ASB Championship with Hawkes Bay.

The South Korean national joins Ashley Dunn as the club’s Visa players for the 2016 season.

TCF first met Coutts when he coached a young Murray United FC U20s team to a win at the AFS Tournament in Shepparton in the club’s very first outing.

Now, 18 months later, the Under 20s finished 3rd in the NPL East, whilst Coutts coached the senior squad through their inaugural year. The fledgling club continues to grow and meet the challenges of a new regional entity.

TCF travelled to Wodonga recently in support of regional football. The club shares the facilities with Wondonga Diamonds FC at La Trobe University.

Their first friendly last weekend was against the highly rated Moreland Zebras FC ahead of an upcoming camp in Canberra where the team will play at the AIS and against Belconnen United FC.
