Road to the Quarters: Heidelberg United FC

The Warriors’ Craft

Opening up their home ground to the public, Heidelberg United went about their business like every other training session – with precision.

It’s rather obvious that the playing group is a cohesive unit, brought together by the numerous highs and few lows they have experienced during their 2015 NPL and FFA Cup campaigns.

The feeling in the group is jovial. The atmosphere buzzing – thanks in no part to Katsouranis’ arrival and what lies ahead of them. Their execution almost machine-like.

Enduring running and passing drills before an extensive match play scenario, the bar was set for remaining training sessions before tomorrow’s big dance.

While Melbourne City may be favourites on paper, the Warriors are armoured and raring to go. The only thing guaranteed about the looming battle is this: Heidelberg’s fortress is about to play host to something special.
