South Melbourne Women’s FC have re-appointed Alan Davidson as head coach after the departure of Bill Mihaloudis last week.

The ex-Socceroo is no stranger to the job, having coached South to their 2011 WPL title before departing at season’s end.

The club released a short statement this afternoon in relation to the appointment.

“Alan Davidson has been appointed as the WPL Head coach for the remainder of our 2014 season. We invite all our members to welcome Alan to the team, and look forward to working collaboratively with him in delivering the objectives set out by the SMWFC Committee,” they wrote via their official Facebook site.

“The committee is confident the playing group will benefit greatly from his knowledge, passion, and inside in to football.”
