St Albans part ways with Kovacevic

St Albans Saints have dismissed coach Joe Kovacevic with only five matches remaining in the 2015 NPL 1 season.

A brief statement on social media read: “St Albans Saints Soccer Club has parted ways with senior coach Joe Kovacevic. We thank Joe for his contribution.”

Dinamo are currently sitting in fifth place in the NPL 1 West division on 37 points, just three points away from second-placed Moreland Zebras.

They were equal second less than a month ago, with a six-point gap on fourth spot.

However, only four points in the last five games has seen the club lose ground on the competition leaders, with defeats against the likes of Sunshine George Cross and Murray United in recent weeks compounding their woes.

A run home against Whittlesea, Bulleen, Nunawading, Moreland City and Bendigo still leaves St. Albans with an opportunity to seal promotion via a playoff opportunity.

Kovacevic took over this season following the departure of previous coach Toby Paterson, who saw the club finish just three wins shy of promotion in 2014.

The club is yet to announce a replacement for the outgoing coach.
