The Springvale White Eagles have parted company with coach Vlado Tortevski following a barren run of form which has seen the Keysborough-based outfit pick up one win from their last ten games.

The 57-year-old was appointed to the role last November following the departure of his predecessor Nik Kovacevic, who took up a role as assistant coach at Pascoe Vale for family reasons.

Two-time VPL winning coach Tortevski oversaw a promising start to his time at White Eagles Stadium which included three wins from Springvale’s opening four league games.

That run of form propelled the club to the summit of the NPL2 East standings following the completion of Round 4, with impressive victories over rivals Dandenong Thunder and Dandenong City helping the former Altona Magic coach win the TCF NPL2 Manager of the Month award for February.

However, from there onwards, the White Eagles form plummeted as one win from their next nine league outings was compounded by a 2-1 home loss to Green Gully in the FFA Cup 4th Round.

Five out of those six defeats came at home to the likes of Moreland Zebras, Melbourne City Youth, Sunshine George Cross, Brunswick City and most recently Ballarat City.

Tortevski’s fate was sealed on the weekend as Springvale blew a one-goal lead to lose to the struggling Werribee City 3-1 at Galvin Park following a second-half fade-out.

That result leaves the White Eagles in seventh in the 10 team conference, hovering one place above a trio of teams on 12 points which includes Box Hill United, Eastern Lions and Richmond.
