Football Federation Victoria has released the NPL fixtures for 2017, with the season set to commence in February for men and women.
In the NPL, Grand finalists Oakleigh Cannons – commonly taking the first match yearly – and newly promoted outfit Kingston City will kick off the campaign on a Thursday February 9 in a tantalising fixture.
South Melbourne will have a seven-game away run to start the season due to the Grand Prix, while Green Gully will have a five-game run of early away matches as its home ground undergoes maintenance.
A Dandenong derby will kick off NPL2 East, with Thunder hosting City on Friday February 3 in a match containing two teams tipped to be thereabouts come promotion time.
Meanwhile, NPL2 West will commence on the Saturday of that weekend (Feb 4).
For the NPLW, Senior NTC will host reigning champions Calder United on Saturday February 25 to mark the beginning of the season.
The NTC’s fixtures have also now moved to Saturdays instead of Wednesdays as it were in 2016.
New inductees into the league, South Melbourne, will travel to Box Hill the next day to begin their life in the NPLW.
