The Springvale White Eagles have announced the signing of former Werribee City forward Delfin Mosibe to their playing roster for the 2017 NPL2 season.

The one-time Equatorial Guinea international moves to White Eagles Stadium after spending the second half of last season with Hume United in State League Two North-West.

Mosibe who is better known by his nickname of ‘Delfi’ moved to Spain from his homeland aged two and re-settled with his mother in Madrid.

At the age of 11 he joined the Real Madrid youth set-up, spending the next seven years of his football development at Los Blancos where he was a teammate of current Real and Spain forward Alvaro Morata.

He then made the move to second tier Real Valladolid who were at the time coached by former Spain and Serbia national team manager Javier Clemente.

Having failed to break into the first-team at the Estadio Jose Zorilla, the teenager tried to his luck in Italy to little avail before playing lower league football with Betis San Isdiro and Atletico Ibanes in Spain.

A move to Australia in 2013 followed as he joined Werribee City, helping Nino Ragusa’s Bees outfit gain promotion to the top-flight with Mosibe making a total of 20 league appearances over the course of the year where he was primarily utilised as an impact player of the bench.

A desire for greater first-team football saw him join Sunshine George Cross in 2014, netting five goals in 13 league goals during his short stint at Chaplin Reserve.

Mosibe then made a mid-season move to the Altona Magic, scoring a further three league goals at Paisley Park Soccer Complex, partnering the likes of Atilla Ofli and Michael Disasi up forward under the tutelage of newly-re-appointed manager Vlado Tortevski.

The forward returned to Werribee last campaign and made an impressive start to the year on an individual level by scoring six times in 11 matches before joining Hume United mid-year where he went onto net a further three league goals.

The 24 year-old joins Cody Martindale (Northcote City) and Slavisa Saric (Doveton) as new signings at Springvale who will be guided by the experienced Tortevski in 2017.
